Fanningbergtrail - 43 km | 2.250 hm

The Fanningbergtrail is the most challenging route with 43.3 kilometres and 2,275 metres in altitude, starting in Mauterndorf. The trail leads through the historic centre, past Mauterndorf Castle and on via the districts of Stampfl and St. Gertrauden up to the Fanningberg. After an initial climb and a forest trail, the route continues to the Weißpriachtal valley and over a challenging trail with roots and hairpin bends to the Hubertus Chapel and the first refreshment stop in Mariapfarr.

The trail continues through forests, meadows and mountain paths with fantastic views of the Taurach Valley before leading to St. Andrä. From there, the trail continues over the Wiesberg, to the Vordereck and up to the Wildbachhütte, where you can take a break. After a descent via the village of Lessach, the route continues to the Prebersee lake and finally to the Panorama Trail, which is the highlight of the trail.

This final section offers alternating single trails and forest paths, with a magnificent panorama and a final ascent to the Ludlalm, the trail's destination.
